Our Summer 2026 Debate Program will teach your child not just the basics, but also the fundamental skills of debate.

We will introduce your child to the art of debate and public speaking. With engaging content that’s made with top debaters, rest assured that your children are getting quality education that teaches them to be tomorrow’s future leaders! Our agenda includes interactive exercises and lessons for children to learn how to use their voice, present arguments, and apply philosophy in the real world.

Recommended for new/beginner & intermediate debaters.

What We’ll Teach

Public Speaking

Build confidence, clarity, and charisma by learning how to express ideas effectively in front of any audience.

Here’s what we teach:

Including how to present yourself properly, how to speak clearly and fluently, how to use your voice (intonation), how to use arm gestures, how to make your speech persuasive, and more

Debate

Explore questions, challenge assumptions, and develop a philosophical worldview through group discussions.

Here’s what we teach:

Benefits of knowing more philosophical ideologies, application of philosophy in debate, famous philosophers, applying philosophy in real-world examples, three branches of philosophy, utilitarianism, deontology, and more

Philosophy

Sharpen your reasoning and persuasive skills through structured argumentation and critical thinking.

Here’s what we teach:

Benefits of debating, how to create an argument, refute an argument, how to write a proper introduction and conclusion, how to make a persuasive debate case, introduction of the debate format Spar, and more

Debate Coach

Ellie Mui

Ellie is an accomplished debater with both international and national championship titles in Parliamentary and World Schools Debate. Known for her clarity and fluency, she excels as a first speaker. She structures cases, lays out arguments cleanly, and sets out a strong foundation for her team.

Notable Achievements:

  • 1st Place in the Berkeley International High School Parliamentary Debate Invitational in Parliamentary Debate (2024)

  • 1st Place in the 14th Annual California State in World Schools Debate (2024)

  • 2nd Place Debater & 5th Place Individual Speakers in Cal Parli (UC Berkeley) Invitational in Parliamentary Debate (2024)

Amanda An

As a skilled debater with experience in Parliamentary and World Schools Debate formats, Amanda is recognized for her sharp analytical skills and clear delivery. As a passionate mentor, Amanda is dedicated to helping students build confidence, critical thinking, and effective public speaking skills.

  • 1st Place in 14th Annual California State in World Schools Debate (2024)

  • 2nd Place in Malaysia’s JWSDC in World Schools Debate (2024)

  • 3rd Place in Harvard Debate Council International Championships in World Schools (2025)

Arya Khajuria, a coach at the official 501(c)(3), student-led nonprofit organization, the American Philosophical Youth Society.

Arya Khajuria

Arya Khajuria is a knowledgeable debater with expertise of over 2 years in specifically Public Forum. She has pursued several forms of speech and debate over the past four years, honing her confidence and speaking skills, even touching upon Congressional Debate. Apart from debate, she enjoys programming with her robotics team and playing volleyball during her leisure time.

Notable Achievements:

  • Quarterfinalist & 2nd Place Individual Speakers in the Philhistorian invitational Bay Area Championship in Public Forum (2025)

  • 2 Years + Member of Basis Independent Silicon Valley’s Debate Club

  • 4 Years of Experience in various Speech and Debate Formats

Speech Coach

Abharika Gurung

Abharika is an experienced speaker, having participated in speech and debate for over four years. Ever since delivering her first Extemporaneous speech in seventh grade, she has fallen completely in love with the event. Throughout her first couple of years, she championed many regional and state tournaments and got involved in other speech events like Duo Interpretation and Original Oratory. In her spare time, she practices a wide variety of martial arts, ranging from traditional karate to sports taekwondo.

Notable Achievements:

  • Champion in MS North Carolina State Tournament in Extemporaneous Speaking (2024)

  • 2x Champion in NC MS Sandhills County Tournament in Extemporaneous Speaking (2023-2024)

  • 3rd Place in DSDL 1 Pinecrest Tournament in Duo Interpretation (2025)

Speech Coach

Chrisel Roche

Chrisel is a dedicated speaker and student leader with experience in competitive speech and debate. She currently serves as Freshman Vice President in her school, where she focuses on representing student voices and helping create a more inclusive and engaging school community. In speech and debate, Chrisel primarily competes in Original Oratory, which has strengthened her skills in advocacy, storytelling, and public speaking. She also has experience in Lincoln-Douglas (LD) debate, which has helped her develop strong analytical thinking and value-based argumentation. Beyond speech and debate, Chrisel is deeply passionate about social justice and student leadership. She is actively involved in the student council and cares about creating spaces where all students feel represented and heard. In her free time, she enjoys reading, primarily mystery novels.

  • Finalist in California Coast District National Qualifier in Original Oratory

  • Semifinalist in Cal Berkeley (UC Berkeley) Invitational in Original Oratory

Debate Coach

Anay Mehta

Anay Mehta is an enthusiastic debater who has been involved in competitive speech and debate for three to four years. He currently competes in Novice Public Forum, developing skills in argumentation, critical thinking, and public speaking. Outside of debate, Anay enjoys staying active by playing basketball with friends and spending time outdoors. He also likes playing video games such as chess.

  • 3rd Place Individual Speakers in Fremont Debate Academy International Tournament in Debate

  • 1st in Dublin Debate Showdown in Parliamentary Debate

  • 1st in Quarry Lane Invitational in Public Forum

Debate Coach

Sophia Cai

Sophia Cai is a dedicated competitor with experience primarily in Public Forum. Through debate, she has developed strong critical thinking skills, greater confidence in speaking, and the ability to voice her opinions, qualities she hopes to bring to all of her students. When she is not debating, she enjoys competing in robotics competitions and participating in mock trial tournaments, where she can further hone her public speaking skills.

Purab Shah

Purab is an active Lincoln-Douglas debater competing in the varsity division. Through debate, he has developed strong skills in research, critical thinking, and structured argumentation. He enjoys engaging with philosophical topics and challenging himself through competitive rounds. Outside of debate, Purab participates in DECA and plays volleyball. In his free time, he enjoys investing and works at a boba shop.
